The RealClearPolitics (RCP) average, covering July 30 to August 14, shows Harris leads Trump narrowly by 1.0 percentage points, with Harris at 48.1% and Trump at 47.1%. This slim lead underscores just how tight the race is.

The polling landscape is complex and fluctuating. Harris appears to have a slight edge in several surveys, particularly those from Emerson College, NPR/PBS/Marist, and SurveyUSA, where her lead ranges from 2 to 4 percentage points. Conversely, Trump is performing strongly in polls from Rasmussen Reports and CNBC, where he is ahead by up to 4 percentage points.

These varying results highlight the volatility of the race and the crucial role of battleground states. The narrow margins suggest that voter sentiment could shift significantly as Election Day approaches.

With both candidates actively campaigning, the data indicates that success in these battleground states will be critical for determining the outcome of the presidential election. The tight competition emphasizes the importance of voter engagement and turnout strategies as both campaigns look to sway undecided voters and strengthen their bases in these key regions.
