Born and raised in Bogotá, Colombia, he is a long-time New Yorker. Oscar has a Master of Arts in Media Studies and Certificate in Documentary Studies from The New School. He also holds a Certificate in Filmmaking and Directing from NYU University, a BFA in Photography from Rochester Institute of Technology and an Advertising Degree from La Universidad Jorge Tadeo Lozano in Bogotá, Colombia.
Mokhtar Kamel joined ATN-American Television News as Bureau Chief Washington D.C., Mr. Kamel brings into the job a wealth of experience gained through working as a senior staff at the IMF -International Monetary Fund in Washington for 25 years before retirement and becoming a political and economic analyst. He is a published writer across the Middle East and Europe with major news organizations such as Aljazeera, RT-Russia Today in both Arabic and English.

She is writing her thesis on the role of technology in Countering Violent Extremism.
